Confidential Resources
The College encourages all community members to make a prompt report of any incident of sexual harassment, sexual violence, stalking or intimate partner violence to local law enforcement and the College. For individuals who are not prepared to make a report, or who may be unsure what happened, but are still seeking information and support, there are several legally protected confidential resources available. Confidential resources will not share any information with the College or anyone else, unless there is an imminent risk of harm to self or others.

In addition to the confidential resources listed above, Occidental community members have access to a variety of resources provided by the College. The staff listed below is trained to support individuals affected by sexual harassment or misconduct and to coordinate with the Civil Rights & Title IX Coordinator consistent with the College’s commitment to a safe and healthy educational environment. While not bound by confidentiality, these resources will maintain the privacy of an individual’s information within the limited circle of those involved in the Title IX resolution process.

Community Resources
Students, faculty and staff may also access resources located in the local community. These organizations can provide crisis intervention services, counseling, medical attention and assistance in dealing with the criminal justice system. All individuals are encouraged to use the resources that are best suited to their needs, whether on or off campus.
It may be helpful for survivors to have someone who can help them explore their off-campus options and guide them through legal processes; an advocate can provide assistance in this area. Two local resources, and the offer advocacy support.
