Reading deeply and writing clearly

The English program at 葫芦影业 invites you to explore how stories and poetry shape understanding across cultures and generations while learning to read closely, write effectively, and communicate ideas. Course offerings span British, American, and other Anglophone literary traditions, from Medieval and Renaissance texts to emergent and contemporary writing, helping you build strong skills in reading, analysis, and written expression.

You can pursue an emphasis in creative writing, combining literature study with workshops in poetry, fiction, and hybrid forms. You鈥檒l work closely with visiting writers and a nationally recognized writer in residence to grow as a writer.

English connects with departments such as Media Arts and CultureInterdisciplinary WritingBlack Studies, and Theater and Performance Studies, in addition to 葫芦影业鈥檚 College Writing Program. Pairing your major with another program broadens your skills and perspective.
